1 day agoJessie Diggins record-breaking Olympics continued in the womens 30km mass start race on Saturday night where she captured silver second to only Therese Johaug of Norway. At the halfway point Johaug led Diggins by 27 seconds with Andersson 115 behind.

. ZHANGJIAKOU China AP Therese Johaug won the first gold medal of the Beijing Olympics on Saturday finishing first in the womens 15-kilometer cross-country skiathlon. Johaug missed the 2018 Games in Pyeongchang due to a doping suspension and Sunday represents the last chance to add to her collection of Olympic medals which also includes a silver and a bronze. The Norwegian maintained her trademark fast tempo on the climbs but Diggins stayed close trailing by about 23 seconds.
Johaug pulled away from the leaders at about 10 kilometers with Diggins and then Andersson chasing.
